FIFTEEN members from Chagford YFC raised £1,400 for Devon Air Ambulance and Cancer Research by organising and running the Moorland Marathon Wheelbarrow Challenge.

The marathon started from Princetown, travelled through the depths of Dartmoor and finished at Moretonhampstead, approximately 15 miles.

Helen Merchant, chairman of Chagford YFC, said: 'The day was a huge success and we would like to thank the public for their support and sponsorship money.'

Chagford YFC has been helping organise the Chagford Show and will present the cheques at the event.
