POLICE are appealing for information after a six- month-old puppy was stolen from the back of a car in Tavistock. The German Shepherd, called Cher, was snatched from a white Ford Mondeo in Market Road between 5.15pm and 5.30pm on April 10. A window had been left slightly open to allow the animal fresh air, which it is believed may have allowed the dognapper to reach in. Her Gunnislake owner, Jason Whitting, who has only had the puppy a couple of months, said he had gone into a shop and discovered her gone when he returned. Cher is jet black with a white flash on her chest and the tip of her tail. She was wearing a red studded collar with her name and contact details.
