CONSERVATION work by children from Princetown Primary School has been documented and will be on show into the next Millennium as part of a new exhibition.
Living with Wildlife celebrates the achievements of 140 local schoolchildren from five primary schools on Dartmoor. It opens tomorrow (Friday) at the High Moorland Visitor Centre in Princetown and will run until January 26.
The schools, including Princetown Primary, took part in conservation work supported by the Dart Biodiversity Project.
On display will be work produced by the children showing how they have helped to protect and enhance Dartmoor's varied and beautiful wildlife.
Princetown pupils cleared invading conifer trees from heather moorland.
Project officer Susan Bragg said: 'This exhibition gives a lively insight into how a group of Dartmoor children took positive action to look after their local wildlife and enthusiastically contributed to maintaining global biodiversity for future generations.
'Their work represents a highly imaginative and creative response to their experiences.'
