THE pupils, staff and parents of Princetown Primary School this week said a huge 'thank you' to Jane Johnston, who will be retiring tomorrow (Friday).

Ali Hirst, headteacher, said that throughout her career, Mrs Johnston had been tireless in her enthusiasm and commitment to teaching 'the arts' — music, dance and drama.

'She has been an inspiration to us all and over the years provided opportunities and enriched the lives of so many children,' said Ms Hirst.

Last Thursday afternoon the children and staff school performed a special assembly for Mrs Johnston to celebrate her teaching career and wish her good luck in her retirement.

Ms Hirst said: 'We feel very honoured to have had the opportunity to work with Mrs Johnston and will miss her dearly. She has made such a positive contribution to our school community.'
