A BERE Alston man punched and injured an older man who had kicked his dog, sending it flying, Plymouth Crown Court this week heard.

Dean Harris, aged 23 and of Rumleigh Gardens, pleaded guilty to assaulting the man, causing him actual bodily harm, on December 21 last year when he appeared at the court on Monday.

Nick Lewin, for Mr Harris, said the victim, in his 40s, had come out of a pub and kicked Harris's dog.

Mr Harris then punched him in the face.

The victim went away but reported to a local casualty unit next day with a suspected broken nose.

Following the attack, Mr Harris went into the pub, told them who he was and what had just happened.

Mr Lewin said the incident was captured on CCTV .

Mr Harris will be sentenced on August 24 at the same court following a report from the Probation Service.
