A DONATION of £284 was made to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association following a lunch at the Tamar Valley Methodist Church in Albaston last Wednesday. More than 60 people attended the three-course Christmas lunch, which was followed by entertainment by Mrs Maureen Harvey, of Callington, on her piano accordion, including some carols for everyone to join in. Mrs Gundula Luke, one of the church organists, gave a presentation on the Pulmonary Hypertension Association. Mrs Luke's daughter, Pamela, suffers from the condition, which is life-threatening and needs expert medical treatment. It is an elevation of pressure in blood flowing within the arteries of the lungs and is not measured with a cuff on the arm. Mrs Luke and her daughter also ran a PHA stall at the lunch.
