THE Shebbear Parishes Protection Group has organised a public meeting for next week to discuss a number of wind turbine applications in the area.

Current applications into Torridge District Council include turbines at Henscott, Durpley Farm and a 102-metre tall turbine at Alscott Farm.

Steve Harrup from the Shebbear Parishes Protection Group, said: 'It's totally unacceptable to have these huge industrial wind turbines spoiling this beautiful rural landscape. We will be strongly objecting.'

The meeting takes place on Thursday June 28 at 7.30pm in Shebbear Village Hall.
