A PLANT and bric-a-brac sale in Buckland Monachorum last weekend raised more than £1,000 for the Children?s Hospice South West. Linda Downing, chairman of the Buckland Friends of the Children?s Hospice group, said she was delighted with the success of the sale, which made £1,245 for the charity. ?We have some lovely people that grow these super bedding plants for us ? we made over £500 on plants, so we did really well,? said Linda, who thanked everyone who had supported the event in the village hall so generously.
