IT IS with a degree of sadness that in answer to the many questions I will be ending my 15 years as a town councillor and will not be seeking re-election in May.
I have enjoyed most of my time working for Tavistock, having chaired various committees and having had the honour of twice being the town mayor. I shall certainly miss the debates and active involvement, but there will be other opportunities to remain involved in the town events.
Prior to the last election I had hoped to get the Bedford Square patio modified. I am sorry that I and others did not manage to stop the bulldozers, but it is being used occasionally and we are still left with awful traffic jams caused by the two lanes of traffic.
I shall now take time to look after my health, clear away the boxes of council minutes, do more in the garden, perhaps learn to use a computer and stop apologising to the grandchildren when they need my help that ?Grandma has to go to another meeting?.
I take this opportunity to thank all those that have voted for and supported me in the past. I have been proud to have played a small part in the ongoing history of Tavistock
