A WEST Devon pub last week received a top accolade for its standards after just a short period of trading.

The Trout and Tipple in Tavistock was awarded a Certificate of Excellence from online review site TripAdvisor, after just 12 months of being open under new management.

The award celebrates excellence in hospitality and is given only to establishments that consistently achieve great reviews on TripAdvisor.

Assistant manager at the pub Michele Brooks said: 'The Certificate of Excellence is awarded to businesses that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews and celebrates hospitality excellence. We are all very proud to receive this after our first year of trading.

'Owner and landlady Abigail Underhill has worked tirelessly to make the Trout and Tipple a success with amazing personal touches. The whole team strives to offer everyone a special experience.'
