MOTHERS were treated to a vintage tea party at Kelly College recently in aid of St Luke's Hospice.
Rachel Hawley, wife of the headmaster at Kelly College, hosted the event where tea was served in vintage china provided by Kelly mother Michelle Pearce from Grandma's Vintage China Hire.
There was a selection of teas, including Earl Grey, Lady Grey, lapsang souchong and traditional English tea, as well as traditional home made cakes.
More than 40 mothers attended the event, which included a raffle to win a vintage cup and saucer, and raised more than £210 in two hours.
Katie Edmondson, from St Luke's, said: 'It was a wonderful afternoon, sharing high tea in a beautiful location, raising some much needed funds for St Luke's.'
Dr Graham Hawley, headteacher at Kelly College, popped in for a cup of tea.
He said: 'We are delighted to support the work of St Luke's which plays a vital role in our community.'
St Luke's Hospice relies heavily on community fundraising as £4-million is needed every year to maintain its services.
