A WOMAN who recently spent two weeks with the community of Afghan Youth Peace Volunteers will give a talk about her experience next week.

Susan Clarkson's talk 'A Journey of Hope from Oxford to Kabul', describes her visit last December as part of the first UK peace delegation to Afghanistan since the 2001 invasion. The aim was to develop projects to promote peace and links between citizens in the UK and Afghanistan.

As well as meeting some inspirational young people, the delegates took money raised in the UK to help Afghan refugees. The visit was organised by Voices for Creative Nonviolence.

The talk, which has been arranged by Tavistock Peace Action Group, is being held in the United Reformed Church in Russell Street on Tuesday, July 2, at 7.30pm.
