THE 1st Okehampton Rainbow Pack celebrate their first term next week with a ?Promise Ceremony? at the Guide and Brownie Hut.
Rainbows are a new venture for the town, and unit guider Benita King said the pack was created because of a keen demand.
?We have 15 ? which is the maximum we can take because you have to have quite a small ratio of children to adults,? she said. ?Rainbows are a social event for the children, who are all aged between 5 and 7. They can interact with peers in a safe environment and have fun at the same time.?
The Rainbows all have all smart new tabards and a selection of craft items which were all paid for from generous grants from Okehampton Lions and the EX20 Lottery.
