A CHEQUE for £1,300 and garden furniture were presented on behalf of Dartmoor Prison to the Trengweath School and Children?s Home in Plymouth recently.
The money had been raised from prisoners? donations and functions organised at the prison, and the wrought iron, wooden-topped garden table and four chairs for the sensory garden were made by prisoners during a skills project.
Roger Brown, a governor at the prison, and Gordon Gilbert ? a prison officer who retired from service on the day of the presentation and whose daugher, Alice, attends Trengweath?s residential care service ? presented the cheque and items to the school.
Pictured centre back receiving the cheque from Roger is the school registered manager Jayne James.
