DARTMOOR Prison is looking for new members to join its Independent Monitoring Board, which ensure that inmates are fairly treated. The board is responsible for ensuring that food, treatment, health, cells, education, mail and conditions and all other services are fairly distributed to prisoners. It was established in 1898 and HMP Dartmoor was one of the first of five prisons for convicted prisoners in which an IMB was established. Several lay people are needed to bring the existing team to ten members and anyone interested in volunteering should contact Jackie Sweet on 01837 83602.
