A WOMAN who was diagnosed with breast cancer last September is holding a ladies night to raise money for the Primrose Foundation.

Nicky Alder from Horrabridge has been through a double mastectomy and five treatments of chemotherapy but she said it was her four children and keeping busy that got her through.

Keeping busy includes cooking and there will be plenty of delicious cakes and chutneys at the ladies night on August 4 at Yelverton Golf Club, plus cosmetics, chocolates, hair design and painted scarves and jewellery. There will also be demonstrations from stallholders.

Tickets are £3.50 and include cake and coffee.

There will also be a raffle.

Nicky said she had a wonderful surgeon and the support from the staff at Derriford Hospital had been brilliant.
