ST ANDREW?S School in Buckland Monachorum has won an award of £500 to develop its outdoor wetland area.
The school was one of 22 selected from 120 schools in the South West to receive a SWEB Energy School Grounds Award.
Schools were invited to submit an application outlining their plans for improving their grounds.
Entries were judged on their level of creativity, degree of pupil and community involvement and relevance to the formal or informal curriculum.
St Andrew?s will use the money to develop its outdoor wetland area. It aims to acquire a piece of adjacent land which will be cleared, drained and fenced and an access will be created across a stream.
