CAMPAIGN group 38 Degrees will be in Bedford Square, Tavistock on Saturday, February 28 in a bid to gather signatures for its 'Save Our NHS' petition.
Members of the online pressure group are running a huge campaign over the next two months ahead of the general election.
In West Devon and Torridge a meeting point has been set up at 11am in Bedford Square as part of a 'Save Our NHS' Day. To join in and help gather signatures or add your weight to the campaign go to https://secure.38degrees.org.uk/save-our-nhs-day">https://secure.38degrees.org.uk/save-our-nhs-day
'This government has pushed our NHS to breaking point; selling parts off to private companies and cutting funding in important areas,' said the group.
'NHS doctors and experts over the last few weeks have made one thing clear; if we want an NHS after May's election, we need to be campaigning now.
'As the election draws near, your local petition will be delivered to each and every candidate who wants to win our votes. Together, we can make sure every politician in every constituency knows that if they intend to run down or sell off our health service, they have got a fight on their hands.
'We need the NHS at our best and worst moments in life. It belongs to all of us and we're proud of it.
'Helping get more signatures on the petition in Torridge and West Devon would be a massive boost to our nationwide push to protect our NHS for future generations.'
Anyone wishing to help collect signatures should RVSP the group by clicking on the website and they will be sent a parcel with petition sheets and leaflets.
