STUDENTS of Tavistock College and members of the Tavistock Air Training Corps were amongst those presented with Duke of Edinburgh Awards at a presentation ceremony at Tavistock Town Hall recently.
The award scheme is designed to support the development of young people over the age of 14 in the area.
Participants have to complete four sections — expeditions, physical recreation, volunteering and skills — to earn their awards.
Recipients of the award have participated in a wide range of activities to complete each section, including volunteer work with conservation projects and charity shops, and playing team or individual sports.
Those who received a gold level award also had to complete an additional section, a residential activity.
The Tavistock committee and the award winners in Devon wish to express their gratitude to all leaders, mentors and facilitators who make the Duke of Edinburgh Award possible, and provide an exciting and positive experience for the young people of West Devon and Tavistock.
