BROADCASTER Angela Rippon, who is patron of Tavistock Area Support Services, visited the Anchorage Centre last Friday to cast her eye over the centre's re-decoration.
Ms Rippon saw how the centre was supporting the re-location of the Old Folks' Rest Room, and how the main hall was now ready to face the challenges ahead with new furnishings and the installation of a new hearing loop.
She said she was 'thrilled' to support the work of TASS.
'TASS really does live up to its name — it's there for people in the Tavistock area.
'It provides invaluable support to individuals and their families, and the service is first class.
'We're really lucky to have such a terrific group of professionals and volunteers working in the community.'
Anyone who would like to volunteer a few hours of their time to TASS should contact Andy Lyle, TASS's general manager, on 01822 616958.
