HORRABRIDGE-based public relations consultants PR Dogs have been praised by TV presenter Jon Snow for their 'outstanding contribution' in working with an eastern European-based mental disability charity.
The company is a member of the Media Trust, which works in partnership with the media industry to build effective communications for the charity and voluntary sectors.
PR Dogs spent six months working with the Mental Disability Advocacy Centre, based in Budapest, to help raise its profile among European governments.
The Mental Disability Advocacy Centre advances the human rights of children and adults with actual or perceived intellectual or psycho-social disabilities. Focusing on Europe and Central Asia, it uses a combination of law and advocacy to promote equality and social integration.
A spokesperson for the MDAC told the Media Trust that thanks to the assistance of PR Dogs, they had learnt how to put together a sensible communication strategy and a database of journalists.
The spokesperson said: 'PR Dogs also looked at our website and suggested changes, advised how best to position the charity, to check and amend press releases and released some of these through their own UK and European journalist database.'
Channel 4's Jon Snow is deputy chair of the Media Trust and has written to the Devon business thanking them for their work.
He said: 'You spent a great deal of time working with them and generally increased their confidence in dealing with the media.
'I would like to express our appreciation and gratitude for this outstanding contribution.'
