Okehampton 2 Plym Valley 1 OKEHAMPTON hockey team started the game with positive attitudes and enthusiasm for the first match of the season, driving the ball forward towards the goal. Unfortunately, Plym Valley?s goalkeeper made good saves, stopping all the shots which were made. With the ball going back and forwards both teams were starting to feel the heat. Although Okehampton?s defence worked hard, with Jane Jones and Debbie Ough making strong tackles and goalkeeper Sopie Whiteley making great efforts to stop the hosts made at goal. Plym Valley managed to sneak a goal in, making the score 1-0. Going into the second half Okehampton kept their spirits high, and Grace Thorpe popped the ball into the back of the net, equalising the score. With all of Okehampton putting in 100% effort they were able to push the ball up to the attacking goal one last time where Polly Wood was able to squeeze the ball past the goalkeeper with only two minutes left, resulting in a well earned 2-1 win for Okehampton.
