A CAROL service for pets will be held at Tavistock's United Reformed Church tomorrow (Friday) allowing people's beloved animals to howl along with the hymns.

'These pet services are very popular and great fun. People do not have to bring an animal with them but we are delighted the Mayor of Tavistock, Norma Woodcock, is coming and are looking forward to seeing what unusual pet she brings along,' said the Rev Roger Cornish.

The unusual carol service is being held by the Plymouth People's Dispensary for Sick Animals. Pets and their owners will be welcome and there will be coffee, mince pies and a raffle after the short service which takes place at 7pm. Mr Cornish asks that pets be kept on a lead or caged for their own safety.

All proceeds will be divided between the PDSA and the church.
