FOUR Mid-Devon Hunt Pony Club girls made the long journey to Cheshire for the National Pony Club Novice Championships on August 24/25. The team, consisting of Lily Bayley (11), Artemis Crowley (14), Rosa Malseed (15) and Lottie Trerise (15), competed against Pony Club teams from across the country, having qualified for the championships in showjumping and eventing. Artemis Crowley also competed in the separate Dressage Championships as an individual. Rosa Malseed and Lottie Trerise have both already represented their Pony Club in national tetrathlon competitions but this was Rosa?s first season on a new horse. Artemis Crowley has also just introduced her 15 hh mare to competing this summer, while Lily Bayley has only recently taken over her 14 hh pony from her older sister. Despite being amongst the smallest Pony Clubs in the UK, the Mid-Devon managed to beat 35 other teams to third place in the Eventing Championship, with Artemis Crowley coming second as an individual.
