DEVON Pony Club tetrathletes took part in the South Devon Moorland?s annual Tet at Bovey Tracey and Holwell Lawn last weekend and some brilliant riding saw them all in the prizes. Enjoying the spectacular scenery and some lovely summer weather, ten of the twelve rode clear rounds over the wonderful courses prepared by Mrs Farant and her helpers. In the Novice Mini class, the Mid Devon team of Jessica Jefferys, Kim Stanton, Tiffany Parrot and Edward Almond did brilliantly to win the class, with Edward finishing 4th and Kim 5th. All four had PB swims, Tiffany had a PB shoot and the three girls all jumped beautiful clear rounds. In the assisted Novice Mini class, Martha Bright and Henry Wells finished 2nd and 3rd. They both rode clear and Martha swam the best swim in the class. Henry was competing for the first time and had the second fastest time in the run. In the Mini Boys competition, Tommy Lyon Smith found himself up against boys who were a couple of years older than him, but a PB swim and a very accomplished ride saw him into a well deserved 2nd place. Rachel Butler entered the Novice Junior Class with no previous Tet experience and did brilliantly to finish in 5th place after a lovely clear round over the Holwell course. In the Junior girls class, Rosa Malseed and Lucy Almond both had stylish clear rounds and a PB shoot from Rosa lifted her into a brilliant third place. In the Junior boys, Will Leach maintained his fine form and produced a determined PB run over a very tough track. He followed this up with a lovely clear round cross country that moved him up into third place. Charlotte Rowe moved up into the Senior Novice class for the first time which meant shooting over ten metres. She was in great form with the best run and swim in the class and after a clear round cross country, she comfortably won the class. Finally congratulations to Mid Devons? Sarah Gomersall who was a member of the Great Britain Junior Pentathlon team that won Gold and Bronze medals at the European Championships in Italy last week.
