Conservative Sheryll Murray won a 55% share of the vote to put her back into Westminster as the MP for South East Cornwall for a third term.

Mrs Murray gained 29,493 votes with Labour candidate Gareth Derrick in second place with 12,050 votes, Phil Hutty for the Liberal Democrats in third with 10,346 and Martin Corney in fourth with 1,335 votes.

All six Conservative MPs retained their parliamentary seats in Cornwall but Labour made significant gains. They came second in four constituencies and increased their votes by 45,000 votes in the county.
