A VACANCY has arisen to become a member of Chillaton Parish Council.

The position is vacant following the resignation of Chris Beighton, an active contributor to several community projects in the village, who will be moving to Somerset.

Chair Cllr Howard Asbridge said that the members are looking for anyone in and around the village who want to help serve the community to apply.

Cllr Asbridge said: ‘We are happy for anyone to be a parish councillor, you don’t have to be an expert, we just want someone who can make a contribution to the local community.’

Evening meetings of the parish council are usually held every four weeks at either Marystowe Church Hall or Milton Abbot Village Hall.
