POLICE have issued the description of a youth suspected of being involved in a distraction burglary in Tavistock.

Police said an elderly resident at Crelake Park was distracted by the youth on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 22.

He told the occupant he was looking for a lost ferret while a cash tin, containing a large amount of money, bank, building society and insurance books and cards, and personal documents was taken from the house.

The youth was described as male, white, aged about 12 or 13, 5ft 2ins tall, slim build, fair skin and fair-coloured straight hair swept over his forehead.

Police are particularly interested in the identity of the youth.
