YELVERTON's St Paul's Church is playing host to the Plymouth Area Police Choir next week at an event in aid of two local charities —YelverCare and Yelverton Village Park. YelverCare is a volunteer care scheme formed in 1998 providing practical support daily for those in need in Yelverton. Yelverton Village Park, built by local volunteers, was opened two years later in 2000, and is a popular play park for both local families and many from far and wide. The Plymouth Area Police Choir has given concerts across Devon and Cornwall and around the UK including the Royal Albert Hall. In 1992 they won the Gold Cup at the Cheltenham Music Festival and the Choir is still the reigning Cornwall Champion. The event takes place on Friday, April 27 at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £5 per adult and £2.50 per child, and are available from Mansbridge and Balment in Yelverton.
