A CHEQUE for £400 was presented to members of Tavistock Youth Council last week to help them towards their goal of building a new youth café in the town. The money was raised at the Tavistock police ball and presented by PC Larry Base on behalf of the station on the proposed café site at Pixon Lane. PC Base said: ?Tavistock Youth Council members have worked extremely hard to raise funds for the youth café project in times when the youth often get bad press.This is a very positive move forward and we at the station are pleased to be able to help.? Youth council spokesperson David Johnson said: ?We appreciate all the funding that the local community has given and we are looking forward to the project getting off the ground.?
