POLICE in Tavistock are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision on Tuesday afternoon, in which a 73-year-old local man was killed. The accident occurred on the Tavistock to Princetown road near Mount House School at around 4pm ? only one vehicle was involved, which was in collision with the hedge. The male occupant of the car, who had not been named by police as the Times went to press, was taken to Derriford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The road was closed for four hours while police carried out collision investigations. Officers have thanked members of the public for their patience during the road closure. They would also like to hear from anyone who saw a silver coloured Vauxhall Vectra travelling on the B3357 towards Tavistock at around the time of the incident.
