POLICE are appealing for witnesses to two unrelated incidents that took place in Tavistock recently.

The first was an assault in Bedford Square on Saturday, October 1 at around 1am. A 20-year old-man was approached near the kebab van and punched twice in the face in an unprovoked attack. He received slight injuries, including a cut lip.

Any witnesses to the assault are being asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference number JT/13/1364.

At around 7.30am on Monday, October 21 a teenager was crossing the road at Chapel Street, towards the bus station, when a car struck her leg. The driver did not stop and the young woman did not take the registration number.

The result of the impact was some bruising to her leg and as such the driver should have stopped.
