POLICE are appealing for information about a spate of burglaries in Milton Combe in the last week.
Three houses were broken into during daylight hours, and items such as jewellery taken.
In each case, the thieves gained entry by smashing patio doors and windows.
Outhouses, such as garden sheds were also raided, and police believe the incidents may have been carried out by the same people.
PC Bob Bone, of Tavistock police, said: 'Some of the valuables taken had deep sentimental value for the victims. That makes it very upsetting for them, and it's important we catch these people.'
A distinctive, bright orange rucksack was stolen from one of the homes, and on Friday, October 10, a man carrying such a rucksack was seen behaving suspiciously in the village.
Anyone who may know anything about these crimes is urged to contact Tavistock police station, quoting crime ref JT/03/1266.
