A BRAVE teenager in the Jurston area of Chagford had a narrow escape after a man threatened her with a knife last weekend.

The 13-year-old girl warded off the attacker and ran to the nearest household where she immediately reported the incident.

The incident happened between 3pm and 3.30pm on Sunday.

The offender was described as male, white, aged between 17 and 22 years, 5ft 4ins tall, thin build, clean shaven with a tanned complexion and short brown hair with fairer hair on top and a fringe.

He was wearing a blue polo T-shirt, dull green trousers and white trainers with a blue tongue.

It is also suspected the offender was in possession of a scooter/moped or small motor bike-type vehicle.

The police are appealing to the public on a number of matters.

Were you in the area of Chagford on Sunday, June 18, and did you see a person fitting the above description with a small motor cycle?

Were you in an area between Princetown and Chagford and witnessed any unusual incidents which to date have not been reported?
