I WOULD like to take the opportunity to say how delighted I was to find each page of the Times Sport section (April 4) filled with young people taking part in different kinds of activity. 

There was a bumper number of children and young people, all with happy faces, taking part in all sorts of sport from hockey to tennis, from swimming to rugby and, of course, running. 

As a seasoned runner myself it is reassuring to know that the generations behind me are keen to get up and go.
