I HAVE been an ardent reader of the Times for over 40 years, even when I left Tavistock to work all over the country my parents never failed to send the good old local paper!
On reading last week?s paper I was devastated and saddened at what has happened to Mrs Hilda Frost at Harewood House.
I know Social Services like everyone else has a budget to work to and struggle to balance their finances, but this surely takes the biscuit.
Surely someone must realise the reason 91-year-old Mrs Frost is so well, it is because she has been meeting people she knew all her life and making new friends from all over the county her own age for the last 20 years. And being fit and able is an asset to her many friends.
I beg Social Services to change their decision and to allow Mrs Frost to continue her final years with friends. At Harewood House.
Come on, friends of Tavistock, this is wrong.
I am not related in any way to Mrs Frost, but I would have condemned this treatment to my own parents if they had lived to enjoy a ripe old age. Hence the letter.
