May I make a plea to dog owners during the present restrictions caused by the foot and mouth outbreaks in West Devon.
Please, please clear up after your dog. There are so few places to walk at the moment, let's try and keep these places as pleasant as possible for everyone.
Poop-scooping isn't a nice task but neither is scraping off the soles of your shoes.
Setting this inconvenience against the dreadful situation facing farmers puts things into perspective.
I'm not being anti-dog — I have two of my own — but I suspect there will be a backlash against dogs and their owners unless everyone acts responsibly during this time.
