Wadebridge Colts 25

Tavistock Colts 10

TAVISTOCK travelled with 12 players and played with 14 after borrowing two from Wadebridge.

Despite early Tavistock pressure through breaks by Smerdon and Smith, the home side opened the scoring with a converted try and penalty.

Drives from the forwards led to a ruck on the 22-metre line which was won when Will Whitehead cleaned out the defenders for Tom Friend to drive over with his forwards adding weight.

Tavistock started the second half well with a try within the first minute, when temporary scrum half Tristan Sherlock fed stand off Dan Smith who powered through a gap for the second try to tie the score at 10 all.

Injury to winger Braithewaite gave the home side a chance to run in three tries to take the game away from Tavistock despite a late valiant effort.

Tim Child propped well and caused his opposite number many problems while scrum half Doc Thompson was much improved.
