WITH summer finally here and the course in superb condition, Tavistock Golf Club members are taking full advantage of the excellent playing conditions.
The Lady Captain's Prize Day attracted a large field and, with prizes of a wide range of bags for the lady golfer, there was much to play for.
In Division 1: 1, Hilary Picton 33 pts; 2, Sue Coles 31 pts; 3, Elaine Cooper 30 pts.
Division 2: 1, Gail Reed 35 pts; 2, Julie Harding 32 pts; 3, Ginny Samborne 30 pts.
Division 3: 1, Jennie Kay 33 pts; 2, Sue Bailey 30 pts; 3, Rachael Newphrey 29 pts. Nearest the pin: Fran Horton. Longest drive: Jennie Kay. Best front nine: Bridget Luckham 18 pts. Best back nine: Veronika Haydon-Foster 17 pts.
In the first Division of the Rickard Bowl and Medal, scoring was extremely close with Hilary Picton on nett 72, Shirley Trevena nett 73 and Dawn Philott and Elaine Cooper both on nett 72.
In Division 2 Lyn Swift had a nett 73 with Pat Hoar, Elizabeth Holmes, Margo Angel and Margaret Foster all on nett 81.
Winner of the Bowl was Hilary Picton, runner-up Shirley Trevena.
The juniors had a excellent home win against Yelverton in their WDJGL match.
The youngsters won by three and two.
Their next match will be against Thurlestone.
In the Par and Kelly Bowl, the winner was Andrew Page from Division 1 with five, second Graham Dennis and Rob Sleep both on two.
In Division 2, first was Mike Henderson with three on countback from Stuart Cox and third with one was Stuart Down.
