A PLAQUE was unveiled in Calstock at the weekend, to mark the centenary of the Tamar Valley Line from Gunnislake to Bere Alston.
Local artist Rosie Fierek designed the plaquem which is situated at the corner of Sand Lane and Lower Kelly, where there is also a spectacular view of the Calstock Viaduct.
The plaque depicts the arches of the viaduct with the river running below and the leaves of the Tamar Valley and two trains in the centre.
A toot was heard from the 2.15pm train as it came over the viaduct and everyone cheered.
The ceremony was also attended by many parish councillors and residents from the area.
