ORGANISERS of a charity plant sale in Buckland Monachorum this week issued a huge thank-you to everyone involved in the event.

The sale, held at the village hall on Saturday, raised an incredible £1,200 for the Children?s Hospice South West.

Linda Downing of Buckland Monachorum Friends of the Children?s Hospice group, said: ?So many people have been so generous.

?They gave us such lovely plants to sell and we had wonderful support from the buyers as well ? everyone has really got behind the hospice here.?

Linda said the first turf was recently cut for a second hospice ? the charity has launched a £15 million appeal to help build the desperately needed new facility.
