A PLANT sale held at Germansweek recently raised £510.30 for Devon Aid ? Korogwe, a charity which provides safe water to villages in rural Tanzania.

The charity fund-raises to provide safe water, usually by drilling boreholes, to villagers in Tanzania. The hand-dug wells currently used carry many water-borne diseases and are drying up, so people are having to carry water from treacherous rivers which are often inhabited by crocodiles.

Bangors, Germansweek was the venue for the successful plant sale held by invitation of Les and Angela.

It was a good social occasion in wonderful sunshine with many people carrying large numbers of plants both to and from the garden.

Thanks were expressed to all who supplied plants, to all who supported the sale and especially to the hosts.
