MEMBERS of the Bere Peninsula Plan steering group, comprising parish councillors and local residents, have launched the neighbourhood plan’s public consultation.

The launch was held in Bere Alston Parish Hall at which a number of local voluntary groups participated.

The six-week consultation process of the neighbourhood plan will include comments from local residents, statutory bodies, local businesses and community groups. Residents were able to inspect and comment on the plan on the night.

A number of events will be held across the parish until March 15 enabling parishioners to take part in the process.

Plan co-ordinator Cllr Mike Benson said: ‘We urge residents to take part in the exercise which after a referendum will allow the parish to control what takes place in terms of development on the peninsula. Please comment online at www.peninsulaplan.org.uk or through the paper copies that will be made available.’
