THE proposal for a holiday lodge/caravan park at Redmoor Close/Butcher Park Hill was rejected by West Devon Borough Council's planning committee in February 2009, on grounds of need, visual impact and vehicle access problems.
Revised plans etc together with a new planning application are now with West Devon Borough council's planning department. It will be for the individual to decide whether there is much difference in the two submissions and if the reasons for the first rejection have been adequately addressed — if at all addressed. As a new planning application it is understood that all previous letters and emails from the public are null and void.
For those who are not fully aware of the development, it will cover 14 acres of former agricultural land, accommodate 52 static caravans/lodges, access works, etc and be open 365 days a year. The urban site is just 900m from Tavistock town centre and will augment the four or five sites already existing in the area.
