A COUPLE from Albaston have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary with family and friends at the Bedford Hotel in Tavistock. Hazel and Ken Allen enjoyed a lunchtime reception and buffet last Friday. Ken arranged a surprise present for Hazel in the form of a portrait of their rescue collie cross dog Zac, done by a local artist Tansy Rice Caley. The couple play an active role in animal welfare, particularly in respect to dogs, being closely involved in the well known Woodside Animal Welfare Trust.
