IN response to Keri Pierce's letter re dog fouling (January 12), I am truly incensed that people can be so unthinking. It does not take a moment to pick up after your dog. Perhaps they think it is degrading?

Well, I am a dog lover and owner, walk my dog twice a day on Whitchurch Common. I carry a 'poo bag' with me (probably more than one) and pick up, even on the common.

Imagine my horror when I was asked why I was doing that! I would not want to expose anyone, especially children (I have grandchildren who like to walk with me) to dog mess. I was told that that is what the moors are for!

Dog owners — think about other people! I always carry a 'poo bag' or two in any of my pockets, so if I see you leaving your dog mess, I shall politely give you a bag completely free of charge! They do not cost a fortune!
