THE Sticklepath Phoenix Group had a special guest speaker at their first meeting of 2012.

BBC Radio Devon presenter Matt Woodley visited the group, formerly the village's WI group, to collect a cheque for the Devon Air Ambulance.

Each year the group raises money for a different charity, and in 2011 the ladies raised a magnificent £310 for the appeal. In 2012 the group has decided to support the cancer charity FORCE.

The group meets at Sticklepath Village Hall on the second Tuesday of each month at 7.15pm. New members and guests are always welcome to attend. For more information on the group call Liz Allen on 01837 840942.
