A PETITION being run by a Tavistock-based pressure group collected 85 signatures in two hours last weekend.
Tavistock Peace Action Group ran a stall in Bedford Square and invited passers by to sign the petition calling on the UK Government to condemn the Israeli military assault on Gaza and Israel's illegal blockade of Gaza.
The group will be showing 'The Heart of Jenin', a film by Marcus Vetter and Leon Geller, this Sunday, January 18, in Café Liaison, Church Lane.
The film is a story of Ahmed Khatib, the Palestinian boy shot by Israeli soldiers while on a raid in Jenin refugee camp. His parents agreed to donate his key organs to both Israeli and Arab children as a gesture of peace.
This is a documentary showing how people have learned to live with everyday conflict, but have not given up their hope for peace.
The film is 98 minutes long and will begin at 2pm.
