THERE will be something to entertain all ages on Bank Holiday Monday (August 28) at Peter Tavy’s annual village fayre.

Around the village hall and Methodist chapel, from 2pm, there will be a host of traditional games, including skittles and a coconut shy, to enjoy in aid of Peter Tavy Village Hall, church and chapel.

Plus, people can watch the sheep shearing demonstrations, browse through the ‘white elephants’ on the Granny’s attic stall, take part in the raffle and tombola, or pick up a bargain on the books, plants and garden and jams and preserve stalls.

Alongside the fayre will be the annual Peter Tavy Plod footrace and fun run at 1pm, and conclude with the popular duck race along the Colley Brook through the centre of the village.

This year the fayre sees the 18th annual meeting of the ‘Dartmoor Teddy Bears’ Dangerous Sports Association’. This year, in collaboration with TI6 — the teddy bear equivalent of MI6 — the Association invites daring bears and cuddly toys to follow in the footsteps of James Bond and take the ‘top secret agents’ initiation challenge’.
