TIME is running out to get entries in to the annual pumpkin competition at RHS Garden Rosemoor in Great Torrington.

The deadline for entries to the competition is October 16 so there are just a few weeks to perfect your pumpkin and be in with a chance to be a winner.

Pumpkin day, sponsored by Edwin Tucker and Sons Ltd, is on Sunday October 25 from 11.30am to 3pm at Rosemoor.

It is a great opportunity for adults and children alike to experience something a little bit different.

From a fantastic competition and prizegiving ceremony, to pumpkin trails and an exciting 'Gourd Walk', not forgetting special children's activities, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Visitors will be able to treat their tastebuds and sample some pumpkin delicacies, as well as having a go at drawing a pumpkin as part of the National Big Draw Event.

There are four classes in this year's pumpkin competition — heaviest pumpkin (from seed provided by Rosemoor), smallest pumpkin, wackiest pumpkin and best lantern.

There are also two adult classes – for the wackiest pumpkin and adult's best lantern.

All winners will be given a rosette and bag of bulbs, but all entrants will receive a small prize.

Entry forms and rules are available by sending a sae to Andrea Reed, Events Assistant, RHS Garden Rosemoor, Torrington, EX38 8PH or ringing 01805 626800.
